Boys & Girls Club to Launch Hollywood 101 Video Production Program

(Madison, Wisconsin) Wednesday, February 15, 2012 –Boys & Girls Club of Dane County (BGCDC) in partnership with FACTV – Fitchburg, WI will be launching its Hollywood 101 Program. This program will give Club members the opportunity to participate in video and media editing projects.  Staff and volunteers will teach our kids about the equipment used to produce/record and allow them to spend the majority of the class producing actual videos.  This new partnership came from a technology grant made possible through Boys and Girls Club of America and other partners such as Microsoft and Comcast Communications. “How authentic of an opportunity is this for our kids?” says John Suggs, Chief Operating Officer at Boys & Girls Club of Dane County.

“Boys & Girls Clubs is exciting to be offering this media opportunity with local community partners. The kids in our community will get a once in a lifetime experience that they might not otherwise have.  We at BGCDC are committed to exposing our kids to enriching programs such as this.  We believe that through these encounters they will be better equipped to realize their full potential,” says Michael Johnson, CEO of BGCDC.

The video production program will commence at Boys and Girls Club of Dane County’s Taft Location. The program will continue monthly with sessions being offered twice per month during February-June
