Career Exploration Program

Open to students in grades 7th – 10th

McKenzie Regional Workforce Center
5315 Verona Road, Fitchburg WI 53711

June 22nd – August 7th

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (hours vary by age group) 60 total hours over 7 weeks.

Participants receive a $500 stipend and earn 0.25 school credit. The program is open to BGC members and non-members

Program Description:
This work-based learning program helps students develop professional skills, explore career interests, and learn about different career paths through field trips, informational interviews and final career project.

Applications are open March 30th and are due April 19th

Community Partners:

Summer Internship Program

Open to 11th – 12th grade high school students and college students who are BGC members

June 22nd – August 14th

Paid at least $15/hour

20+ internship opportunities across fields like nonprofit work, healthcare, business, IT, science, and more.

Schedule and location vary by internship.

Program Description:
Students are placed in paid internships with external employer partners. Interns alsoparticipate in wekly professional development and are matched with a job coach for support throughout the summer.
